Farmers Union-North Fork of South Platte near Bailey, Colorado


Farmers Union is a privately owned stretch of river along the North Fork of the South Platte River near Bailey, Colorado.  Farmers is a great place for beginners and experienced anglers alike. The river is diverse with 1.5 miles of runs, riffles, bends, deep pools, oxbows, back eddies, and any other river characteristics one can think of. Farmers Union is an ideal trip destination because of its proximity to Denver (50 minutes), inexpensive trip price, and diversity of fish including rainbow, brown, brook, and cuttbow trout, as well as a few rainbow/donaldson steelhead hybrids in the 20 to 24 inch range. Farmers also makes for a perfect place to learn to fly fish because of diverse fishing conditions, private water, and the inexpensive guide trip cost. Half day trips are available and make for a great way to spend a morning or afternoon in the mountains. Come join us at Farmers Union for great scenery, good fishing, and lots of fun!
