Private Lessons and Public Classes

Would you like to learn how to fly fish in the Colorado mountains? Our one-day lessons are designed just for you.  Private lessons are a great way for beginners to learn the art of fly fishing from knowledgeable and experienced guides.

Your day begins on the river while you learn the basics of fly fishing – from the water to the fly to the ideal way to throw a fly rod.  After a streamside lunch you’ll put your knowledge to the test as you fish for brown and rainbow trout.   Your guide will be by your side every step of the way, giving helpful tips and instruction.

Your lesson will include:

  • Equipment basics
  • Knot tying
  • Stream entomology
  • Casting instruction

Lessons are held on a private section of the North Fork of the South Platte River in Bailey, Colorado, and classes are held on the South Platte near the Deckers area…only a 50 minute drive from Denver. Lessons are usually with one or two people and offer all the personal attention necessary for it to be an experience you will remember!  Classes are a great way for bigger groups to learn the art of fly fishing in a relaxed environment, especially suited for business outings, family trips, and everything in between.

Prices vary according to the size of your group and your individual needs.  Please call us for more details.
