Kurt Johnson- Senior Guide

Kurt’s youth was spent cutting his fishing teeth in Midwestern rivers and lakes and soon expanded to saltwater filled with bonefish, permit and tarpon.  After growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Kurt escaped to the Colorado hinterlands to his home at 9000 feet.  As a guide he’s immersed his clients in both the challenge and release that comes from mastering the art of fly fishing.  And as an avid outdoorsman who also ice climbs, rock climbs and mountain bikes, his attitude is clearly captured in the quote “The steeper the mountain, the harder the climb, the better the view from the finishing line.”  Or perhaps the “fly line” in Kurt’s case.
